    A song cycle in memory of October 7, including settings of Hebrew, Yiddish, and Engish poetry. Premiered in Tel Aviv by members of the Israeli Opera in March 2024.

    Trained as a classical composer at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, David has composed Yiddish art songs, other solo vocal works, chamber music, choral music, a musical, and a children’s opera.

    Sasson v’Simcha (Joy and Delight) is a bluegrass setting of the Friday night Shabbat liturgy in Hebrew. Please be in touch to bring Sasson v’Simcha to your synagogue!

    Seven songs from the service were recorded in Boston and the music was premiered for the retirement celebration of Rabbi Dennis Sasso in Indianapolis. Sasson v’Simcha is dedicated to Rabbis Dennis and Sandy Sasso and to Congregation Beth-El Zedeck.

    Five 'n Change (formerly Five in the Chamber) is a New Haven, Connecticut based bluegrass band that drives hard and carries a big pick. They respect the tradition. They respect the trailblazers. And they respect the renegade outlaws. Their final product is an eclectic balance of American roots music which both reinterprets and redefines the bluegrass songbook.
