Freedom Walks in Dancing Shoes
David recently released a new song about Miriam suitable for Shabbat Shirah and Passover. The song features Cantor Talya Smilowitz and is based Rabbi Sandy Eisenberg Sasso’s children’s book about Miriam.

Zakhor - a requiem for october 7, and other jewish music
A song cycle in memory of October 7, including settings of Hebrew, Yiddish, and Engish poetry. Premiered in Tel Aviv by members of the Israeli Opera in March 2024.

Classical Music
Trained as a classical composer at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, David has composed Yiddish art songs, other solo vocal works, chamber music, choral music, a musical, and a children’s opera.

Americana/Folk -Wallace and Sasso
With fiddle and a variety of mandolin-family instruments, Wallace and Sasso orbit around traditional folk, original songwriting, and the ever-evolving boundaries of Americana music. They have released two critically acclaimed albums, Stuff of Stars in 2019, and Old Habits in 2021.

Irish Music
David is active in the Connecticut Irish traditional music scene as a backer and on the tenor banjo. His new collaboration with button accordion Damien Connolly is “Hup and Away.”

Bluegrass
David has played with CT bluegrass band Five ‘n Change (formerly Five in the Chamber) and now performs and hosts bluegrass jams with trio Midnight Gander.
